Performance at Performance Art Oslo festival, Norway
A randomized set of highly recognizable stock sound effects cycle through two large speakers as I physically interpret each sound. The improvised movements form an unrepeatable choreographic sequence. As each sound is heard I embody the imagined object or animal being communicated and am lead on an unpredictable transformation at a rapid pace; leaving as little time as possible to contemplate any consciousness regarding my body’s gestures.
Watching Allison’s dance performance I felt like putting together my own story as if it was possible to create the image-narration based on sounds and movement suggestions. - Zofia Cielatkowska (festival critic)
